DELEGATE MARVIN H. SMITH: I would like to
8
recognize the presence in the gallery of 71 of the 72

I feel bound to say to you that this school is
15
named for Colonel William Richardson, who had many
16
accomplishments but who was, among other things, a Delegate
17
from Caroline County to the Convention of 1876, and it was
18
he who invited Thomas Johnson to sit with the Caroline
19
County delegation when he had been ousted from other places
20
and contributed thereby to his election as Governor of
21
Maryland. (Applause)
