AFTERNOON SESSION.

The Convention met at 3^ o'clock, P. M.
All the members present except the following:

Messrs. Belt, Berry, of Baltimore county, Berry, of Prince
George's, Briscoe, Brown, Clarke, Crawford, Dail, Davis,
of Charles, Edelen, Gale, Harwood, Henkle, Hodson, Hop-
per, Johnson, Jones, of Cecil, Jones, of Somerset, Lansdale,
Mace, Marbury, Mitchell, Noble, Peter, Robinette, Schlosser,
Sneary, Thruston, Valliant, Wilmer. —30.

The Convention resumed the consideration of the report of
the committee on the Basis of Representation;

The question being on the adoption of the motion submit-
ted by Mr. Holliday, to open the third section for amend-
ment;

Mr. Pugh moved to suspend the 53rd Rule;
The question being on the adoption of the motion,
Mr. Abbott demanded the yeas and nays,
The demand being sustained,
