The Convention met at 8 o'clock, P. M.

The Convention resumed the consideration of the Report
of the Committee on the Legislative Department,
The question being on the adoption of the amendment sub-
mitted by Mr. Brown,
After debate thereon,
Mr. Edelin having addressed the Convention for thirty
minutes,
Mr. Jones, of Somerset, moved that his time be extended;
The question being on the adoption of the motion,
Mr. Chambers demanded the yeas and nays,
The demand being sustained,
