Chambers, of Kent, Donaldson, Dorsey,WeIls, Weems, Dalrym-
ple, Bond, Brent of Charles, Jenifer, Chandler, Dashiell, Williams,
Hicks, Goldsborough, Eccieston, Phelps, Miller, McCubbin,
Bowling, Diiickson, McMaster, Hearn, Fooks, Jacobs, McHenry,
Carter, Presstman, Sehley, Fiery, Michael Newcomer, Davis,
Kilgour, Waters, Anderson, Weber, Fitzpatrick, Smith, Parke,
Ege and Shower—44.
So the Convention refused to postpone indefinitely.

Mr. Fiery, then moved to amend said report by striking out
after the word "Legislature" in the 2nd line, these words, "so
soon as the ünancial condition of the State shall justify it;"
Mr. Buchanan, moved to amend said section by adding at the
end thereof, the following proviso:

"Provided, that if denominational schools be established in any
of the counties or the city of Baltimore, they shall zeceive their
equitable proportion of the fund;"

Mr. Jacobs, moved further to amend said section by adding the
following:

"Provided, that in the establishment of said adequate school
fund, taxation upon real and personal property shill not be resort-
ed to;"
The chair ruled this amendment to be out of order, two amend-
ments being already pending.

Mr. Spencer, moved to postpone said report and amendments
until the 1st day of August next;

Mr. Davis, moved the question be taken by yeas and nays and
being ordered appeared as follows:

Sollers, Howard, Bell, Welch, Ridgely, Lloyd, Sherwood, of
Talbot Colston, John Dennis, Williams, Hicks, Goldsborough,
Eccieston, Phelps, Constable, McLane, Bowie, Sprigg, Spencer,
George, Wright, Thomas, Shriver, Gaither, Biser, Annan,
Sappinglon, Thawley, Hardcastle, Gwinn, Stewart, of Balt. city,
Brent, of Ualt. city, Ware, Schley, Neill, John Newcomer,
Harbine, Michael Newcomer, Hollyday, Ege, Cockey and
Brown—45.

NEGATIVE—MeSSrS Chapman, Pres't, Morgan, Blakistone,
Dent, Hopewell, Donaldson, Dorsey, Wells, Seliman, Weems,
Brent, of Charles, Buchanan, Chandler, Dashiell, Miller, McCub-
bin, Dirickson, McMaster, Hearn, Fooks, Jacobs, Stephenson,
McHenry, Carter, Fiery, Davis, Kilgour, Brewer, Waters,
Anderson, Weber, Fitzpatrick, Smith, Parke and Shower----35.
So the report and amendments were postponed.

Mr. Blakistone, submitted the following as an article of the con-
