SATURDAY, May 3rd, 1851.

The Convention met.
Prayer by the Rev. Mr. Griffith.
The proceedings of yesterday were read.

Mr. Sherwood of Balt. city. presented two petitions signed by
sundry citizens of the city of Baltimore, praying the convention to
incorporate into the new constitution provision that the privilege to
sell intoxicating liquors in small quantities shall not be granted to
any person in any part of the State or city, except the same shall
be first sanctioned or approved by a majority of thevotersin the
county, election district or ward:where the same is to be sold;

Which were read and severally referred to the select committee
appointed on that subject.

Mr. Stewart of Balt city, gave notice that on Monday next, he
should ask the consent of the convention to move to reconsider the
vote of the convention on those sections of thejudicial report which
relate to the organization of courts in the city of Baltimore;

The Convention then resumed the consideration of the unfin
ished business of yesterday, being the propositions relative to dis
tricting the city of Baltimore and the several counties of this
State;

The question pending before the Convention on yesterday, be
ing on the motion of Mr. Chambers of Kent, to reconsider the
vote of the convention striking out the amendment offered by him;
Mr. John Newcomer moved to postpone the consideration of
the motion until Thursday next, the 8th inst

Mr. Merrick moved the question be taken by yeas and nays, and
being ordered, appeared as follows:
