AFFIRMATI VE.—Messrs. Seilman, Welch, Ridgely, Sherwood,
of Talbot, Colston, Chambers, of Cecil, McCullough, Miller,
McLane, Bowie, Spencer, George, Thomas, Shriver, Biser,
Sappington, Stephenson, Magraw, Nelson, Carter, Thawley,
Hardcastle, Gwinn, Stewart, of Baltimore city, Brent, of Balti-
more city, Presstman, Ware, Fiery, John Newcomer, Michael
Newcomer, Anderson, Hollyday, Slicer, Ege, Shower and
Cockey—36.
NEGATIVE—Messrs. Chapman, Pres't, Morgan, Dent, Lee,
Chambers of Kent, Mitchell, Donaldson, Dorsey, Wells, Kent,
Weems, Dairymple, Bond, Sollers, Brent, of Charles, Merrick,
Jenifer, Buchanan, Bell, Dennis John, Crisfield, Dashiell, W il
liams, Hicks, Goldsborough, Eccleston, Phelps, Sprigg, Dir ick
son, McMaster, Hearn, Jacobs, Gaither, McHenry, Davis, Kil
gour and Weber—37.
So the amendment as amended was rejected.
The question then recurred and was put, on the adoption of the
article; and

Determined in the affirmative.

Mr. Hardcastle, moved that the convention adjourn;
Determined in the negative.

The 31st article, was then read and adopted.

The 32nd article was then read;

Mr. Parke, moved to amend said article by inserting after the
word "that," in the 2nd line, the following:

"Except as allowed elsewhere in this constitution;"

Determined in the negative.

The said 32nd article was then adopted.

The 33d article was then read;

Mr. Ridgely, moved to amend said article by inserting after the
word "estate," in the 4th line, the following:

"Or suffer any civil or political incapacity."

Pending the question on this amendment;

On motion of Mr. Spencer.
The Convention adjourned until to-morrow morning 11 o'clock.
