The president of the senate being absent, the senators
present requested Mr. Carroll to take
the chair, when the following resolution was proposed.
RESOLVED, That the thanks of the senate be given to
the president of this body for his great
attention, impartiality and judgment, in the discharge of his public duties.
Which was read the first and second time and unanimously
assented to.
The senate adjourns until the first Monday in November next.
So ends the fourth session of the fifth senate, the
third day of January, on thousand eight
hundred.
