265B. The police justice of the peace in and for districts
three, seventeen, twenty-one, twenty-two, twenty-four and
twenty-five shall have criminal jurisdiction of offenses com-
mitted in any of the districts of said county cognizable by
justices of the peace under the law, where complaint is made
before him, but no warrant of arrest shall be issued by said
police justice of the peace except upon the oath or affirmation
of the person making complaint that an offense has been com-
mitted, and upon being satisfied, upon examination of such
person making complaint under oath, of the probable truth
of such charge.

265E. No justice of the peace or constable appointed for
any other district of said county shall have or exercise crimi-
nal jurisdiction of any kind in the town of Hagerstown, nor
shall they have any criminal jurisdiction of offenses or viola-
tions of law committed in said town either by issuing war-
rants of arrest or serving process of any kind.

265F. The police justice of the peace in and for the dis-
tricts three, seventeen, twenty-one, twenty-two, twenty-four
and twenty-five of said county shall at the first regular meet-
ing of the County Commissioners held in each month make a
report in writing, verified under oath made before the Clerk
of the County Commissioners for Washington County, of all
criminal cases heard or tried before him during the preceding
month, which report shall state in each case the name of the
defendant, the offense charged, the name of the person
upon whose complaint the warrant was issued, the name of
the officer serving warrant and summons, the number of wit-
nesses summoned, the judgment rendered, the amount of the
fine or penalty imposed, the amount of cost taxed and the
amount of fine, penalty and cost collected by him; and all such

fines, penalties and costs, including constables' fees, which the
said police justice of the peace is hereby required to collect,
shall at the time of his making his said report be paid to the
order of said County Commissioners; and the said police jus-
tice of the peace shall at the first regular meeting in every
month of the Mayor and Council of Hagerstown shall also
'make a similar report, as hereinbefore provided, of all cases
tried before him for offenses committed under the charter and
ordinances of Hagerstown, and shall pay over to the order of
the said Mayor and Council all fines, penalties and forfeitures
imposed and collected by him for any violations of said charter
and ordinances of said town, and also all costs incurred in said
cases, and collected, including the same fees paid to constables
for like services, which the said justices are hereby required to
collect.
