LAWS OF MARYLAND.

Appropriation.
Schools and
charitable
institutions.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the sums of money hereinafter named be and they
are hereby appropriated to the support of the hereinafter men-
tioned schools and charitable institutions in the State, for
each of the two fiscal years ending on the 30th day of Sep-
tember, 1901, and on the 3oth day of September, 1902, respec-
tively, to wit:

Knapp's
English and
German
Institute.

1. To F. Knapp's English and German Institute, for the
training and education of indigent mutes, the sum of twelve
hundred dollars for the fiscal year nineteen hundred and one,
and the like sum of twelve hundred dollars for the fiscal year
nineteen hundred and two; and in consideration of said appro-
priation the said F. Knapp's English and German Institute
is hereby required and directed to maintain twelve free
scholarships heretofore established in said institute, for the
training and education of indigent mutes, and to train and
educate twelve indigent mutes, and to furnish them with
necessary text-books, appliances, and So forth.

Woman's
Medical Col-
lege of Balto.

2. To Woman's Medical College of Baltimore, for the Hos-
pital of Good Samaritans, the sum of fifteen hundred dollars
for the fiscal year nineteen hundred and one, and a like sum
of fifteen hundred dollars for the fiscal year nineteen hundred
and two, upon condition that the said hospital receive from
each county in the State, and from each legislative district of
Baltimore City, one free patient at a time each year, upon the
certificate of the County Commissioners of each county, and
the Board of Health of Baltimore City.

Lying-in
Hospital of the
Maternite of
Maryland.

3. To the Lying-in Hospital of the Maternite of Maryland,
the sum of three thousand dollars for the fiscal year nineteen
hundred and one, and the like sum of three thousand dollars
for the fiscal year nineteen hundred and two.

Nursery and
Child's
Hospital of
Balto. City.

4. To the Nursery and Child's Hospital of Baltimore City,
the sum of twenty-five hundred dollars for the fiscal year nine-
teen hundred and one, and the like sum of twenty -five hun-
dred dollars for the fiscal year nineteen hundred and two.

Hebrew
Hospital.

5. To the Hebrew Hospital and Asylum Association of
Baltimore City, the sum of twenty-five hundred dollars for
the fiscal year nineteen hundred and one, and the like sum of
twenty-five hundred dollars for the fiscal year nineteen hun-
dred and two.

Boys' Home
Society.

6. To the Boys' Home Society of Baltimore City, the sum
of one thousand dollars for the fiscal year nineteen hundred
and one, and the like sum of one thousand dollars for the
fiscal year nineteen hundred and two.
