858. The Clerk of the Circuit Court for Prince George's
County shall keep in his office a well-bound book of blank
receipts, and each of said blank receipts shall be attached to
a blank stub; and said clerk, personally or by deputy, shall
give a full and explicit receipt upon one of said blank receipts
to every person who shall pay into his said office any fee,
commission or sum of money, said receipts shall be given at
the time of payment of said fee, commission or money, and at
the same time there shall be entered upon the stub of the
blank receipts then used a full and explicit memorandum of
the contents of said receipt. All such stubs shall remain in
said book, and all books of stubs shall be kept as records of
said clerk's office.

85C. The Clerk of the Circuit Court for Prince George's
County shall designate each volume of the land and chancery
records of his office, begun and made from and after the
passage of this Act, by successive numbers, beginning with
number one; and thenceforth all references on official papers
to the contents of any of the records so numbered shall be by
the said number of the volume.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 472.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
one hundred and seventy-two of Article 20 of the Code of
Public Local Laws, title "Somerset County," sub-title
"Oysters."

SECTION 1. Re it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section one hundred and seventy-two of Article 20
of the Code of Public Local Laws be and the same is hereby
repealed and re-enacted with amendments so as to read as
follows:

Somerset Co.
Oysters.

172. The Clerk of the Circuit Court for Somerset County
upon the application of any person who has been a resident
of the county for six months and of the State for twelve months
immediately preceding his application, and is a bona fide
owner of the vessel to be used by him, or upon a certificate
of any justice of the peace of said county certifying to such
application, shall issue to such citizen a license authorizing
him to catch or take oysters with scoop, scrape or dredge in
