SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the sanction and consent of
the General Assembly of Maryland be and the same is hereby
given, granted and declared to the acquisition by the said
Convention of the Protestant Episcopal Church of the Diocese
of Maryland of the property conveyed by said deeds, and to
the holding, selling, mortgaging or otherwise disposing of the
same.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 406.
AN ACT to refund to certain collectors of State taxes herein
mentioned moneys erroneously paid by them into the State
Treasury.

SECTION i . Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Comptroller of the Treasury be and he is hereby '
authorized and directed to issue his warrant upon the Treas-
urer of this State in favor of the following collectors of State
taxes for moneys erroneously paid by them into the State
Treasury, the same having received the recommendation of
the treasury officials, viz.: Elijah Williams, collector of Anne
Arundel county, for years 1893, 1894, 1895 and 1896, twenty-
nine dollars and thirty-seven cents ($29.37); William B. Brad-
ley, collector fourth district, Allegany County, for years 1894
and 1896, nine dollars and sixty-three cents ($9.63); Hugh
Scott, collector fourth district, Allegany County, for year 1893,
twenty-five dollars and eighteen cents ($25.18); George H.
Jones, collector Calvert County, for year 1895, five dollars
and thirty-eight cents ($5.38); William H. Dowell, collector
Calvert County, for year 1897, sixteen dollars and eighty-
nine cents ($16.89); Thomas R. Green, collector Caroline
County, for year 1897, four hundred and ninety dollars and
sixty-five cents ($490.65); Charles E. Jeffrey, collector third
district, Harford County, for year 1894, eighteen dollars and
thirteen cents ($18.13); Andrew Kinhart, collector fourth dis-
trict, Harford County, for years 1896 and 1897, one hundred
and sixty-four dollars and thirty-nine cents ($164.39); S. J.
Cook, collector fifth district, Harford County, for years 1896
and 1897, forty-five dollars and twenty-four cents ($45.24);
Lloyd R. Martin, collector fifth district, Harford County, for
years 1893, 1894 and 1895, twenty-six dollars and fifty cents
