JOHN WALTER SMITH, ESQ., GOVERNOR,

of any provisions in the said by-laws on the third Tuesday in
January of each and every year; and that the board of
directors shall elect such officers and appoint such clerks,
agents and employes as the business of said corporation in the
discretion of the board of directors may require.

4. And be it enacted, That all elections shall be held and
conducted in the same manner as is now provided for the
elections of directors in corporations incorporated under the
General Laws of the State of Maryland.

6. And be it enacted, That the said company shall have
power to act as agent for any and all persons or corporations
which may engage in the sale, lease, purchase, exchange or
mortgage of real, leasehold and personal property, and to make
contracts and agreements consistent with laws with such
person, persons, corporation or corporations; to purchase
and hold, bargain and sell, grant, assign and convey land or
any interest or estate therein, chattels, choses in action,
checks, notes, bills of exchange, bills receivable, bills payable,
due bills, certificates of deposit, warehouse receipts, stocks,
bonds, certificates of indebtedness, mortgages on real, lease-
hold and chattel property and every and any evidences of
debt; to advance money upon the security thereof by receiv-
ing and holding the same on such terms as may be agreed
upon or established by said company, or of accepting mort-
gages or other liens thereon, and generally to deal in every
and all descriptions of property or properties, personal
effects, securities, mortgages, certificates of indebtedness,
stock of corporations, notes, loans on bonds of the United
States or of any state, county, municipality or any incor-
porated company, co-partnership, joint stock company or
individual.

11. And be it enacted, That the said company shall have
power to make and adopt such rules, regulations and
by-laws for the government and management of the affairs
of the said corporation as it may deem advantageous or
proper to the interest thereof, provided the same be not
contrary to the law of the land.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That said Chapter three hundred
and sixty -nine of the Acts of the General Assembly of Mary-
land of 1898, be and the same is hereby amended by adding
thereto certain additional sections, granting additional powers
and privileges to said corporation, and to be designated as
Sections six A, six B, six C, ten A and ten B.
