offices to be filled, and they shall cause the names of the can-
didates for the same office to be grouped together with spaces
beneath each group, wherein the voter may write additional
name or names if he so desires.

The official ballot shall be of opaque, plain white paper,
not less than four or more than five inches in width, and of
sufficient length to admit of names of all the nominees, and
the requisite space for writing other names beneath them, and
shall be printed as near as may be like the following sample,
date and names to be changed.

For municipal election, held January 1, 1900. Put a cross
X mark in the margin opposite the name or names voted for, or
draw lines through the names not voted for.
