CHAPTER 290.
AN ACT to create a Commission to examine the Laws of this
State relating to taxation, and to prepare any needed amend-
ments thereof; and also appropriating money for the expenses
of said Commission.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Governor be and he is hereby directed to ap-
point a commission of three persons whose duty it shall be to
examine the provisions of Article 81, of the Code of Public
General Laws of Maryland, entitled "Revenue and Taxes,"
and all amendments and re-enactments thereof, and all other
Public General Laws relating to the levy, assessment and col-
lection of taxes, and every form of public revenue; and also to
prepare and submit to the next session of the General Assembly
such amendments or revision of said laws as may to said com-
mission seem wise. The said commission shall serve with-
out compensation, it shall be authorized to employ such clerical
and other assistance as the discharge of its duties may re-
quire.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the sum of five
hundred dollars be and the same is hereby appropriated to
pay the expenses of said commission, and that the Treasurer
of the State shall, upon the warrant of the Comptroller, dis-
burse said sum in accordance with the orders of said commis-
sion.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 291.
AN ACT to refund to Henry Tydings a sum of money paid
in error to the State Treasurer.

Appropriation
for expenses.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Comptroller be and he is hereby authorized
and directed to issue his warrant upon the treasurer payable
to Henry Tydings of Anne Arundel County, Maryland, for
the amount of nine dollars and twenty-four cents ($9.24), said
amount being due to said Henry Tydings as taxes erroneously
paid by him to said State Treasurer, on erroneously assessed
property, as per certificate attached.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
