CHAPTER 279.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
three hundred and eighty -seven, of Article 4, of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "City of Balti-
more," sub-title "Miscellaneous Local Laws."

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section three hundred and eighty -seven of Article
4, of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "City of Balti-
more," sub-title "Miscellaneous Local Laws," be and the
same is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, so
as to read as follows:

Section 387. Witnesses attending any of the courts of
Baltimore City, except the Criminal Court of Baltimore,
shall be entitled to fifty cents a day, and in the Criminal
Court shall not be entitled to said allowance, except by the
express order of the court, and only in such cases as the
court in its discretion may deem proper. But any of the
courts of Baltimore City may, in its discretion, allow itiner-
ant charges to out-of-town witnesses.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 280.
AN ACT to ratify and confirm the ordinance of the Mayor
and City Council of Baltimore, No. 32, approved February
eight, nineteen hundred, supplementary to and in amend-
ment of Ordinance No. 18, approved March ninth, eighteen
hundred and ninety-eight. The subject matter of both of
said ordinances being the issuing of the stock of the Mayor
and City Council of Baltimore for the purpose of paying
