right of condemnation hereby granted to said company, or
that it may otherwise have under the General Laws shall not
be construed to authorize it to acquire in that way any of the
lands, rights, privileges or property in Cecil or Harford
Counties, in the State of Maryland, used, owned, occupied,
appropriated or contracted for by either of the Conowingo
Bridge Company, the Susquehanna Electric Power Company,
or the Susquehanna Construction Company of Baltimore City,
except so far as may be required in order to back the water of
the Susquehanna river to a height of at least four feet above the
crest of the present main dam of the said Susquehanna Power
and Paper Company, and aS much more as may be required
to make the crest of said main dam level with an elevation
forty-two feet above mean tide, to be established from the
bench mark of the Columbia and Port Deposit Railway on
the southwest abutment of the county bridge at Conowingo.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That said company is
hereby authorized to exercise its powers and franchises, con-
struct, maintain, supervise and operate its works, plants, or
any part thereof, distribute and dispose of its electricity and
power, or any part thereof, for application to any useful
purpose, and generally transact its business, or any part
thereof, in the City of Baltimore, but the assent and approval
of the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore City shall be
obtained before using the streets or highways of said city,
either the surface or ground beneath the same, and said
Mayor and City Council are hereby fully authorized to pass an
ordinance or ordinances giving their assent and approval, and
designating the manner of using the said streets and high-
ways; and that in the exercise of the powers of condemna-
tion by said company for the acquisition, use and occupation
of land or property, or any easement therein, or right appur-
tenant thereto, or materials for the uses, objects and purposes
of the company within the City of Baltimore in the manner
provided in Section three of this Act. The Superior Court

more City Court, and the clerks thereof, and the sheriff of
said city, and the jurors summoned by him from the inhabit-,
ants of said city, and any justice of the peace of said city,
and all parties interested in the exercise of said powers of
condemnation shall, respectively, have the same powers and
rights which are conferred under Section three of this Act
upon the Circuit Court of said counties and the clerks thereof,
and the sheriffs of said counties, and the jurors summoned by
them from the inhabitants of said county, and the justices of
