LAWS OF MARYLAND.

Baltimore Co,

WHEREAS, The equity indexes at present in use in the office
of the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Baltimore County have
become worn and mutilated and have undergone deterioration
to such an extent that it is impracticable any longer to pre-
serve them in a sound condition; and,

WHEREAS, The plan of the present indexes is cumbersome
and inconvenient and ill-adapted to the best uses for which
they were prepared.

have prepared
new indexes of
equity dockets

SECTION 1. Therefore be it enacted, That the Clerk of the
Circuit Court for Baltimore County be and he is hereby author-
ized and empowered to have prepared, according to such plan
or system as he shall select, by and with the consent and
approval of the judges of said court, new indexes of the equity
dockets in his office from docket number one (No. i) down to
and including docket number fifteen (No. 15), when the same
shall be completed, containing all the necessary entries and
indexes therefrom.

How paid for.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the expenses incurred by the
preparation of said new indexes, as aforesaid, shall be paid
out of the surplus revenue of the said Clerk of the Circuit
Court for Baltimore County.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 235.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
forty-six of Article 3 of the Code of Public Local Laws,
title "Baltimore County," sub-title "County Treasurer."

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section forty-six of Article 3 of the Code of Public
Local laws, title "Baltimore County," sub-title "County Treas-
urer," be and the same is hereb3r repealed and re-enacted so
as to read as follows:

Annual
tax levy.
When due, etc.

46. The annual tax levy made by the County Commissioners
shall be due and payable on the first day of May in each year;
and from all taxes so levied which shall be paid prior to the
first of June a discount of two per cent, shall be deducted from
the amount thereof; on all taxes paid during the month of
June, a discount of one and one-half per cent, shall be made;
on all taxes paid during the month of July, a discount of one
