CHAPTER 142.
AN ACT to provide for transcribing and making a general
Index of Marriage Records in the office of the Clerk of the
Circuit Court for Prince George's County, Maryland.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Prince George's
County shall transcribe and make a general index of all mar-
riage records in said office, beginning May 31st, 1777, and
ending July ist, 1886, both inclusive, in suitable books for
that purpose.

Shall levy an
amount to pay
for said work.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That when said work is
fully completed the said Clerk of the Circuit Court shall sub-
mit the same for examination and inspection to one or more
of the judges of the Circuit Court for the Seventh Judicial
Circuit, and if he or they shall find that said work has been
properly done, he or they shall give to the said Clerk of the
Circuit Court a certificate to that effect, and upon presenta-
tion of his account for said work, together with the certificate
of the judge or judges aforesaid to the County Commissioners
of Prince George's County, they shall at their next levy-
laying term thereafter levy an amount in their discretion suf-
ficient to pay said account, nor shall the total cost of Work
exceed the sum of three hundred dollars.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 143.
AN ACT to repeal section seventy -three of Article 23 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Wicomico
County," sub-title "Liquor and Intoxicating Drinks," as
enacted by Chapter one hundred and thirty -six of the Acts
of Assembly of eighteen hundred and ninety-six, and to
re-enact the same, with amendments.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section seventy-three of Article 23 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Wicomico County,"
sub-title "Liquor and Intoxicating Drinks," as enacted by
Chapter one hundred and thirty-six of the Acts of Assembly
of eighteen hundred and ninety-six, be and the same is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:;
