SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the sum of one thousand five hundred dollars, or
so much thereof as may be necessary, be and is hereby appro-
priated to pay the expenses of the dedication of the Maryland
Soldiers Monument erected by authority of Chapter 294-1898,
on the battlefield of Antietam.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the sum appropriated by
this Act be expended by and under the direction of the Antie-
tam Battlefield Commission, appointed by authority of the
said Chapter 294 — 1898, and the Comptroller is directed to
draw his warrant on the Treasurer of the State for the pay-
ment of said expenses, upon the presentation of the proper
vouchers.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
eighty -three of Article 19 of the Code of Public Local Laws,
title "St. Mary's County," sub-title "Oysters."

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section eighty-three of Article 19 of the Code of
Public Local Laws, title "St. Mary's County," sub-title "Oys-
ters," be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted with
amendments, so as to read as follows:

ful to catch.

83. It shall not be lawful for any person to take or catch
oysters in the Patuxent river or tributaries thereof, nor in the
tributaries of the Potomac river which may be within the lines
of St. Mary's County, between the first day of April and the
twentieth day of September in each year; nor shall it be law-
ful for any person, at any time, to take or catch oysters in the
Patuxent river north of a straight line drawn from St. Cuth-
bert's wharf, in St. Mary's County, to St. Leonard's creek, in
Calvert County, with any patent tongs worked by ropes, cables
or other appliance, to work said patent tongs; and above said
