thorized by their articles or certificates of incorporation
or by the Laws of Maryland to issue diplomas to gradu-
ates, provided that such college or colleges shall conform
to the rules and regulations of the American Medical
College Association.
"50. Auy itinerant vender of any drag, nostrum, oint-
ment or appliance of any kind intended for the treat-
ment of any disease or injury or who shall by writing or
printing, or any other method, profess to cure or treat
disease or infirmity by any drug, nostrum, manipulation
or any other expedient, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor
and shall be fined in the snm of not less than $50, and
not exceeding $200 for such offense or be imprisoned for
a term of not less than 30 days or more tItan 6 months,
or be both fined and imprisoned in the discretion of the
Conrt.
"53. From and after the passage of this Act, no person
shall practice medicine or surgery in the State of Mary-
land, unless said person shall be duly registered as a
physician or surgeon, in accordance with the provisions
of the sub-title of this Article.
"58. Either of the examining boards provided for in
this Article shall have the power if in their discretion it
is deemed wise, to grant (to any properly registered phy-
sician and surgeon from any State other than Maryland,
upon application, and presentation of the registered cer-
tificate of said applicant) a certificate of the said hoard.
always provided, however, that the secretary of the
Maryland Board of Examiners shall have in his posses-
sion, before granting said certificate to said foreign ap-
plicant, a written guarantee that said applicants State
board will in like manner if applied to by registered
physician and surgeon of this State, grant a similar cer-
tificate for that State; no examination being necessary in
either case.
"59. Any person who, after the passage of this Act,
shall practice or attempt to practice medicine or surgery
in this State, without being registered in accordance with
the provisions of this sub-title, shall be guilty of a mis-
demeanor, and for each and every instance of such prac-
tice, forfeit and pay to the hoard of Examiners for the
use of said board, the sum of $50 for the first offense,
and two hundred for each subsequent offense; and any
