1900.] OF THE SENATE 801 ommended by the Medical and Chirurigical Faculty of Maryland shall examine all applicants who propose to practice any other than homeopathic system of medicine, and the board composed of physicians recommended by the Maryland State Homoepathic Society shall examine all applicants who propose to practice the homoepathic system of medicine. The certificate of either board shall be conclusive proof of the efficiency of the applicant ex- arnined by said board. All examinations held by the board and the answers of the applicants shall be in writ- ing and shall he kept by the secretary of the board as records, which shall be kept in a safe and available place; the secretary of the board, however, shall allow, at the request of any applicant or applicants, such applicant or applicants the privilege of seeing or obtaining a copy thereof of said applicant's or applicants' records, but this privilege shall only be granted within the period of twelve months from the date of said applicant's or appli- cants' examination. "Sec. 41. The first boards of medical examiners appointed under this Article shall each meet and organize within thirty days from the date of their appointment, which appointment shall be made by the Governor in the month of April, 1900, as provided in this Article for the purpose of examing applicants for licenses. Said board shall elect from their own membership a president and secretary, and shall name two members to serve for a term of two years, two members for a term of three years, two mem- bers for a term of four years, and two members for a term of six years; deciding by lot or agreement, among them- selves, as to their respective terms. At the expiration of the above term, such vacancy shall be filled by appoint- ment by the Governor in the month of April, for a term of six years from names recommended by their re- spective State Medical Societies; and the Governor shall also promptly fill all vacancies occasioned by death or res- ignation in the board from names similarly recommended. Each of said hoards shall hold two stated meetings, and special meetings at their discretion in each year, due notice of which shall be made public at such times and places as may be determined by the members there- of respectively; at said stated or special meeting a majority of the members of the board shall constitute a 51 |
