1900.] OF THE SENATE. 769 Resolved, That if the Maryland Legislature appropri- ate $50,000 to Johns Hopkins University, it shall be on con- dition that women shall be admitted to the classes on same terms as men, and that the 30 free scholarships shall be awarded according to the standing of applicants at the examinations without regard to sex. Also, At a meeting of Brighton Grange No. 60, held 14th March, 1900, it was Resolved, That we express officially to our Representa- tives in the legislature our approval of the creation of the office of State Dairy Commissioner, whose duty it shall be to hunt out and punish violators of laws that protect farm products. E. L. HARTSHORNE, Secretary. Which was read and referred to the Committee on Agriculture. ORDERS. On motion of Mr. Putzel, it was Ordered, That the sum of $140.90 be paid to B. A. Betts, Howard Procter and others for expenses incurred in visiting public institutions. Which was read and referred to the Committee on Fi- nance. INTRODUCTION OF BILLS. By Mr. Peter, A bill entitled "An Act to amend chapter 149, of the Laws of Maryland, passed at the January session of 1896."
