1488 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Apr. 2 The Senate resumed session at 11.15 P. M. Present at roll call the following Senators: Messrs. President, Applegarth, Baker, Beasman, Betts, Bouic, Brewiugton, Bryan, Crothers, Dennis, Dick Dod- son, Gray, Kirwan, Marsh, Messick, Moore, Moses, Peter, Putzel, Raveuscroft, Rohrback, Wilkinson, Williams, of Harford, Williams, of Anne Arnndei—25. The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared and de- livered the following message: REPORT OF JOINT COMMITTEE OF CONFERENCE Upon House bill entitled "An Act to appropriate certain sums of money to the support of sundry schools and charitable institutions in the State of Maryland, for each of the two fiscal years ending on September 30th, 1901 and Septem- ber 30th, 1902, respectively." The Conference Committee respectfulls reports and recommends unanimously. 1st. That the Senate recede from its first amendment, and recommends the sum of $24,000 for the fiscal year 1901, and a like sum of $24,000 for the year 1902, for the Johns Hopkins University. 2nd. That the Honse concur In the 2nd Senate amend- ment, increasing the appropriation of the Baltimore City Hospital from $3,000 to $5,000, for each of the fiscal years 1901 and 1902. 3rd. That the House eoncnr in the 3rd Senate amend- ment, increasing the appropriation for the Managers for the Maryland Hospital for the Insane at Spring Grove, the sum of $5,000 for each of the fiscal years 1901 and 1902. 4th. That the Senate recede from the 4th Senate amendment, appropriating the sum of $3,000 for each of the fiscal years 1901 and 1902, for the Bureau of Immi- grati on. 5th, That the House concur in the fifth Senate |
