A bill entitled "An Act to add three new sections to
Article 1 of the Code of Public local Laws, title ‘MIe-
gany County, sub-title ‘Jurors,' providing for the selec-
don and drawing of jurors in said connty, said sections
to follow section 178, and to be designated as ‘Sections
178 A, 178 B aid 178 C."
"Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That S new sections be and the same are here-
by added to ArtIcle 1, of the Code of Public Local Laws,.
title 'Allegany Connty,' sub-title 'Jurors,' to follow see
tion 178, to be designated as ‘SectIons 178 A, 178 B and
178 C, and to read. as follows:
"178 A. When selecting the list of two hnndred names for
Allegany county as provided for in section 7, of Article 51,
of the Code of Public General Laws, the judge or judges of
the Circuit Court for Allegany county drawing the jury for
said county shall apportion the names of the panel of
two hundred among the several election districts or pre-
ducts where an election district is divided into precincts,
so that from each election district or precinct there shall
be selected as near as may be the number of names hav-
ing the same proportion to two hundred that the regis-
tered vote of said district or precinct bean to the entire
registered vote of the county, which said list or panel
of two hundred names shall be numbered from one to
two hundred inclusive, and when the said list of two.
hundred names shall have been selected and certified by
the judge or judges as provided in said Article 51 of the
Code of Public General Laws, it shall be placed in the
box hereinafter provided for by section 178 B. until the
drawing of the jury for the next succeeding jnry term of
the Circuit Court for Allegany county, and a certified
copy thereof shaft be recorded among the minutes of the
term of said court at which such selection took place.
"178 B. Instead of causing the names to be written
upon ballots and placed in and drawn from a box as pro-
vided in sectIon 8, of Article 51, of the Code of Public
General Laws, the judge or judges of said court may, in
his or their discretion in lieu thereof, require the clerk
of said court to provide a box of sufficient dimensions
and to have the same divided into two compartments;
and further, to provide two hundred white balls, each of
