Mr. Crothers submitted the following message
BY THE SENATE,
April 2nd, 1900.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:
We have received your message requesting the Senate
to recede from its amendments to House bill No. 904,
printed No. 497, entitled "An Act to appropriate certain
sums of money to the support of sundry schools and
charitable institutions in the State of Maryland." We
respectfully inform you that the Senate adheres to its
amendments and propose, with your concurrence, the ap-
pointment of a Joint Committee of Conference on the
disagreeing votes of the two Houses.
We have named on the part of the Senate Messrs
Crothers, Williams, of Harford and Betts.

Delegates.
The President distributed the following message from
the House of Delegates:
House bill entitled "An Act to appropriate a sum of
money to meet the additional expenses of the Legisla-
ture of Maryland for the session of 1900."
Endorsed: ‘Read the third time and passed by yeas
and nays."
Which was read the first time.
Mr. Crothers moved that the Rules be suspended and
said bill put upon its second reading.
