AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

1. In line 1 of title strike out the words "and direct."
2. In line 2 of section 1 strike out the words "and di-
rected," and insert as follows, •‘in their discretion."
3. In line 3 of section 2 strike out the words "and di-
rected," and insert as follows, "in their discretion."
4. In line 1 section 3, after the word "bond” insert as
follows, "if it should be decided to issue the same."
5. In line 1 of section 4, after the word "county," in-
sert as follows: "In case of the issue of said bonds as
provided in section 3."
6. In line 4 of section 7, after the word "Commis-
sioners,' insert the following: "And said County Com-
missioners."
7. In line 7, section 7, after the word "shall," insert the
word "have."
Also returned,
Senate bill No. 71, entitled "An Act to repeal and re-
enact with amendments, section 745, of Article 4, of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title ‘City of
Ealtimore,' sub-title ‘Police Commissioners,' as said sec-
tion was enacted by chapter 123, of the Acts of 1898."
Endorsed.: "Amended, read a third time and passed by
yeas and nays."

A MENDMENT PROPOSED

At the end of the bill, after the word "1900” add the
following:
"And provided, further, that nothing herein contained
shall be construed to legislate out of office any police
officer, detective or officer or police now on the force, or
any employee of the Board of Police Commissioners."
The Senate concurred in the proposed amendment, and

follows:
