AMENDMENT PROPOSED
By Mr. Gray:
"Sub-section 58. For the purchase of a tract of land
and the construction of a high school building thereupon,
and towards the maintenance thereof of any money re-
maining thereout after the construction of such building
at La Plata, Charles county, Maryland, five thousand dol-
for that purpose they are hereby granted the same powers.
lars; said money to be paid to L. Allison Wilmer, Thomas
R. Farrell, Samuel C. Padgett, J. Benjamin Mattingly
and Benjamin M. Edelen; who are hereby constituted
trustees for said school, and made and constituted a body
corporate, for the purposes thereof, with power to fill
vacancies occurring among their own number, by death,
resignation or otherwise, and to have perpetual succession,
with powers generally of a corporate body, so far as the
same may be necessary for the purposes for which they
are named.
"And it is further provided, that if the said trustees
cannot purchase a tract of land suitable for the purposes,
that they may acquire the same by condemnation, and
as are possessed by the Board of County School Commis-
sioners of Charles county."
