shall have been issued, and the said consolidation and
merger shall have been made may re-issue the ‘same
amount of stock to any other person or persons.

SPECIAL ORDER OF THE DAY.
The hour of 11 A. M. having arrived,
The Senate considered the Order of the Day, being
House bill entitled "An Act to repeal a portion of the
Acts of Assembly of 1892, chapter 200, and a portion of
the Act of Assembly of 1898, chapter 123, with proposed
amendments."
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Strike out all after the words "a bill” and insert lh
lieu thereof the following
"Entitled An Act to authorize the Mayor and City
Council of Baltimore to regulate the exercise by the
Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company of Balti-
more city, and the Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone
Company, of the rights and. privileges granted to said
companiesby Ordinance No. 41, approved May 9th, 1889.
"Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Mayor End City Council of Balti-
more is hereby authorized to regulate from time to time,.
by ordinance or ordinances, the exercise by the Chesa-
peake and Potomac Telephonç Company of Baltimore
city and the Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Com-
pany, of the rights and privileges granted by Ordinance
No. 41, approved May 9, 1889, so as to prevent the exer-
cise of said rights and privileges from interfering with
the proper construction of the city conduits and other
city works; and in executing the power hereby granted
the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore may mate all
needful and proper regulations for determinihg the char-
acter, size, plan and mode of construction of the conduits
and manholes authorized to be constructed by said ordi-
nance, the location of said conduits and manholes in the
several streets and alleys in which they may be con-
