shall qualify by taking the oath prescribed for Aldermen,
and shall eater upon their duties the first Monday in
July, in the year nineteen hundred by choosing one of
their number for president, and the then board of direc-
tors shall be dissolved. The directors so appointed shall
be governed by chapter 123, of the Acts of 1865, and
chapter 164, of the Acts of 1866, except wherein
the provisions of this Act conflict. They shall there-
after be elected annually as provided by the char-
ter, the Board of Public Works reserving the right
to nominate two directors until the charter of the
city of Annapolis is amended so as to provide for
the management Qf the Annapolis Water Company.
Their meetings and proceedings shall be open to the
public. They shall receive as a compensation for the
entire board for salaries a sum not exceeding four hun-
dred dollars. They shall publish annually a report of
the company giving an itemized statement of their re-
ceipts and disbursements, stating to whom money is paid
and for what purpose.
Section 2. And be it enacted, That any Act or part of
Act inconsistent with this Act is hereby repealed.
Section 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

Also, favorably, with proposed amendment,
House bill entitled "An Act for the relief of the Home
and Infirmary of Western Maryland in Cumberland, for
the purpose of erecting a building on the ground of the
said home."
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Strike cut all after the words "Sectiom 1," and insert
in lieu thereof as follows:
"Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the sum of $5,000 be and the same is hereby appro-
priated to the Home and Infirmary of Western Maryland
in the city of Cumberland, of which the sum of $4,000 is
to he expended and used in the construction of an Oper-
ating room or building, for the purpose of surgical or
other operations in connection with the said institution,
