half, and into the State Treasury one-half of said license
fees as due and payable therefor.

Sec. 7. Any person or persons, firm or corporation, or
association of persons violating any of the provisions
hereof, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and
on conviction thereof, shall be punished by imprison-
ment in the county jail for a term not exceeding one
year, or by a fine of not less than one hundred dollars,
nor more than five hundred dollars, or by both such fine
or imprisonment, and each and every day that a viola-
tion of this Act shiall continue shall constitute a new and
additional offense, in the case of a violation hereof by a
corporation, the president or managing officer of said
corporation may be prosecuted thereof as in the case of
a private individual.

Sec. 8. This Act shall not apply to manufacturing es-
tablishments, warehouses or auction houses.

Sec. 9. It shall be the duty of the proprietor or man-
ager of every store at the request of the clerk or clerks
authorized to issue the license to furnish such clerk or
clerks with a statement in writing under oath, setting
forth the amount of the different classes of goods, wares
and merchandise which are kept and had for sale in such
store during the principal seasons of sale.

See. 10. All Acts and parts of Acts inconsistent with
the provisions of this Act are hereby repealed.
Sec. 11. There being no law now existing on the sub-
ject provided for in this Act, although the necessity
therefor has long existed, creates an emergency within
the meaning of the Constitution, therefore this Act shall
take effect and be in force from and after its passage."

Strike out all after the words "a bill” and insert in lieu
thereof as follows:

"Entitled an Act to add a new section to Article 56, of
the Code of Public General Laws, title ‘Licenses,' sub-title
‘Traders,' said section to follow section 37, to be desig-
nated as Section 37 A,' and to repeal and re-enact with
