AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Strike out all after the words "section 3, " and insert in
lieu thereof:
"And be it enacted, That the question whether or not
said Article shall be amended as aforesaid, shall be sub-
mitted to the legal and qualified voters of said city at
the election to be held on the Tuesday next after the first
Monday in May, 1901, the vote on said question to be by
ballot, and upon each ballot to be used at said election
shall be printed after the list of candidates, the words
"For the Amendment Relating to Sabbath, " and "Against
the Amendment Relating to Sabbath, " so that each voter
at said election can designate thereon in the manner pre-
scribed by law, whether the vote is for or against said
amendment, as he shall elect. The same space shall be
provided for the voter's cross-mark, and the same regu-
lations shall be observed as to the return and canvass of
the votes upon said amendment as obtaining at the time
of such election under the provisions of the public law re-
lating to elections, and this Act shall take effect im-
mediately after it shall have been thus determined that
a majority of the legal and qualified voters of said city
have cast their votes for said amendment, but nothing
contained in this Act shall affect any cases that may be
pending, which may be prosecuted as if this Act had not
been passed.

House bill entitled "An Act to repeal section 188, of
217 inclusive, of Article 3, of the Code of Public Local
Laws, title 'Baltimore County, ' sub-title 'Roads, ' as
amended by chapter 49 and chapter 469, of the Acts of
1896, and chapter 309 of the Acts of L898, and to re-en-
act the same with amendments, and to add three new
sections thereto to be designated 'Sections 217 A, 217 B,
217 C. '"
