The Journal of the 9th inst, was read and approved.

The Speaker announced that he had received the res-
ignation of Mr. Willis from the Committee on Chesa-
peake Bay and its Tributaries, and that he had appoint-
ed Mr. Collins in his stead.

PETITIONS, MEMORIALS AND OTHER PAPERS,

Mr. Norris presented the petition of G. W. Hatchen-
son and others, asking for the enactment of a law pro-
hibiting the killing of foxes while being pursued by
dogs.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on.
Game and Fish.

ORDERS.

On motion of Mr. Truitt, of Baltimore county, it was

Ordered, That Wm. J. C. Dulaney Company, State
Printers, be paid the sum of $40 for printing 1000 roll
calls as per order of the House of Delegates, page 11 of
Journal and 2000 roll calls as per order of the House,
page 425 of Journal, said sum to be taken out of the ap-
propriation for printing for this session.

Which was read a first time and referred to the Com-
mittee on Claims.

On motion of Mr. Corkran, it was

Ordered, That Mr. Pattison be excused from to-night's
session on account of business.
