enlarge the powers arid amend the charter of the Man-
chester Bank of Carroll county, Md., so as to enable it to
loan money on or purchase promissory notes, bills oblig-
atory or other evidences of debt. '

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Amend by striking out the whole of section 2 and sub-
stituting the following:

"Sec 2, And be it further enacted, that the stockhold-
ers of said company shall be liable to the amount of their
respective share or shares of stock in said company for
all its debts and liabilities upon note, bill or other-
wise.

"Sec. 3. And be it further enacted that this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

Which was adopted.

The bill., as amended, was read a second time and or-
dered to be engrossed for a third reading.

House bill entitled "An Act to repeal section 176, chap-
ter 25, of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland,
passed at the January session, 1898, known as the amen-
ded charter of the town of Oakland, and to re-enact the
same so as to read as follows. "

Which was read a second time and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.

House bill entitled "An Act to amend Article 1, of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, entitled 'Alle-
gany County, ' sub-title 'Dogs, ' and to add additional sec-
tions thereto to be known as '100 A, 100 B, 100 C, 100 D,
100 E, 100 F, 100 G, 100 H and 100 I. ' "

grossed for a third reading.

House bill entitled "An Act to provide for a sanitary
officer for the 13th election district of Baltimore county. '

grossed for a third reading.

House bill entitled 'An Act to divide the 3d Election
District of St. Mary's county into two precincts, to be
known respectively as 'Precincts Nos. 1 and 2. "

Which was read a second time and ordered to be en-
