The bill was then read a first time.

The Secretary of the Senate appeared and delivered
the following message:

BY THE SENATE,
Annapolis, Md., March 6th, 1900.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:

We have received your message announcing your non
concurrence in the amendments proposed by the Senate
to House bill file No. 111, printed No. 119. We propose
the appointment of a Committee of Conference on the
disagreeing votes of the two Houses, and have named on
the part of the Senate, Messrs. Williams, of Harford,
Crothers and Baker.

Mr. Mitchell submitted the following message to the
Senate:

BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

March 7th, 1900.
Gentlemen of the Senate:

We have received your message proposing the appoint-
ment of a Joint Committee of Conference on the dis-
agreeing votes of the two Houses on the bill entitled "An.
Act to repeal sections 261, 262 C, 262 K, 262 N, 262 Q, of
the Code of Public Local Laws, title 'Harford County, '
sub-title 'Taxes, ' as enacted by the Act of 1898, chapter
204, and to re-enact the same with amendments, " and re-
spectfully inform you that we concur therein.
