in line 155, strike out the words "$1100" and insert in
lieu thereof the words "$400. "
14th Amendment. Strike out all of sections "217 A
and 217 B. "
15th Amendment. After section 217 B, strike out the
words "section 217 C, " and insert in lieu thereof the
words "section 217 A. "
16th Amendment. Add the following sections;
Section 217 B. Wherever any public road of said
county crosses at grade the line of any railroad worked
by steam or other power or any other road, public or
private, the county commissioners shall have power to
determine whether the public safety or convenience re-
quires that such public road shall be carried across such
railroad or public or private road at the place in question
by an over-grade or under-grade crossing, and upon such
determination to make such changes of grade and con-
struction in such public road as may be necessary for
such over-grade or under-grade crossing, as the case may
be, and to construct or provide for the construction of
such bridges, archways or culverts as may be needful
for such overgrade or undergrade crossing.
Sec. 217 C. The County Commissioners shall have
power to make a contract with any person or corporation
owning or controlling the railroad or other road so
crossed for doing the work necessary for any such
change of grade in such public road, including the con-
struction of the bridge or bridges, archway or archways,
culvert or culverts, made necessary by the proposed over-
grade or undergrade crossing, upon the approval by said
county commissioners of plans, specifications and esti-
mates therefor submitted to them by said person or cor-
poration, which plans, specifications and estimates shall
provide for reasonably convenient access to such public
road on the part of adjoining property holders, where
the same can be provided without unreasonably inter-
fering with the accomplishment of the purposes of this
and the foregoing sections.
Section 217 D. The County Commissioners shall have
power to determine, after such reasonable opportunity as
