PETITIONS, MEMORIALS AND OTHER PAPERS.
Mr. Biggs presented the petition of 40 citizens of
Washington county for the passage of a General Local
Option Law.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on
Temperance.
Mr. Mitchell presented the petition of 184 residents of
Harford county, protesting against any change or amend-
ment in the Local Option Law of Harford county.
Which was read and referred to the Harford county
delegation,
Mr. Kimble presented the petition of Cecil Grange of
Cecil county, asking for an appropriation of $5000 to
continue the Farmers Institutes.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on
Agriculture.
The Speaker announced to the House that the Chair-
main of the Judiciary Committee gives notice that all
bills sanctioning bequests must be introduced before the
9st inst, as the Omnibus bill will be closed on the 10th
inst, and that the Chairman of the Committee on Ways
and Means gives the same notice with regard to the do-
nations for charitable or other institutions.
