Article 93, of the Code of Public General Laws, title
'Testamentary Law, " sub-title 'Sales, ' to be designated as
'Section 275 A. ' "

Which, was read a first time.

Also, favorably,

House bill entitled "An Act to make valid mortgages,
and assignments of mortgages, defectively sworn to and
recorded since the 14th day of March, 1898. "

Which was read a first time.

Also favorably, with the request that the same be sent
to the Baltimore city delegation.

House bill entitled "An Act to repeal section 743, of
Article 4, of the Code of Public Local Laws, title 'City of
Baltimore, ' sub-title 'Police, ' and re-enact the same with
amendments, and to add an additional section to said
Article 4, to be numbered 143 A, and to come in after
section 143, as passed by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, January session 1892, chapter 309. "

Which was referred to the Baltimore city delegation.

Also favorably, with the request that same be sent to
the Baltimore city delegation,

House bill entitled "An Act to repeal section 448, of
the Acts of 1898, chapter 123, entitled 'City of Baltimore
Charter, ' and to re-enact said section. 448, under the head
of fire department with amendments, so as to read as
follows:

House bill entitled "An Act to provide for the estab-
lishment of an electric light plant in Hagerstown, Mary-
land. "

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Amendment No. 1, proposed by Washington county
delegation:

Strike out "section L" and insert in lieu thereof the
following:

"Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That as soon as the electric light plant here-
inafter provided for, shall have been completed and put
in operation in accordance with the provisions of this
Act, there shall be no lighting at municipal expense, of
