AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Add to the title the following words: Sub-title ' Civil
Jurisdiction, ' as amended by Acts 1898, chapter 167.

In section 1, line 3. after the word "Peace" add the
following words, "Sub-title Civil Jurisdiction" as amend-
ed by the Acts of 1898, chapter 167.

Which were severally read and adopted.

The bill as amended,

Was read a second time, and ordered to be engrossed
for a third reading.

House bill entitled "An Act to regulate the mode of
payment of all appropriations made by the State to any
associations or incorporated institutions maintained for
industrial, educational, medical or charitable purpose. "

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Amend title to the bill by adding in the 3rd line, after
the word "humane, " the word "military, " and changing
the last word in the last line, "purpose, " to "purposes. "

Amend section 1, line 3, by adding the word "mili-
tary, " after the word "humane, " and by striking out all
after the word "purposes, " in line 3, to the word "secur-
ing, " in line 9.

In line 13, of section 1, strike out the word "benefac-
tion, " and insert in lieu thereof the word "beneficiary. "

In the last line of section 1, add after the word "insti-
tution, " the words "or commanding officer of such mili-
tary organization. "

Amend section 3 by striking out on line 3, the word
"section, " and insert in lieu thereof the word "election. "

All of which were severally read and adopted.
