Mr. Choate submitted the following order:
Ordered, Thai the State printers, Wm. J. C. Dulany
Company, are hereby authorized and directed to furnish
fifteen hundred copies of the Maryland Manual each
year, for the years 1900 and 1901, prepared by Elihu S.
Riley, the first publication being on July 1st, 1900, and
the second December 31st, 1901.
The fifteen hundred copies of said work shall be dis-
tributed each year by the State Librarian as follows:
Two hundred copies, fifty bound in cloth, to the Execu-
tive Department, to be distributed to the several States
of the Union, in exchange for similar works, published
by the said States, and to the public libraries in this and
other States, and to the officials and citizens of this State
requiring such official information as said Manual con-
tains; twenty-five copies, bound in cloth, to the Mary-
land State Library; ten copies, two of which shall be
bound in cloth, to each of the Senators and Delegates of
the General Assembly of Maryland; one copy to each of
the Clerks of the Circuit Courts of the State; one copy
to each of the Boards of County Commissioners of the
State; one copy to each of the Boards of School Com-
missioners of the State.
The said Manual shall contain:
A list of the members of the General Assembly of
Maryland, with their postoffice addresses;
A list of the Standing Committees of the two houses;
A biographical sketch of each member of the General
Assembly of Maryland;
The names and addresses of all State and county offi-
cers elected by the people;
The names and addresses of all State and county offi-
cers appointed by the Governor and the Board of Public
Works;
The names and addresses of al] officers elected by the
Legislature;
A brief summary of the duties of the several State
officers;
The official returns of the election held immediately
preceding the publication of the Manual;
