NEGATIVE—None.
Said bill was then returned to the Senate.

The Secretary of the Senate appeared and delivered
the following message:
Returned,
House bill entitled "An Act to authorize the Mayor and

City Council of Baltimore to issue its certificates of stock
to an amount not exceeding $5, 000, 000 for the purpose
of providing the money to pay, at the time of doing the

work, the portion and the costs and expenses of grading,
paving and curbing the streets, lanes and alleys of the
city of Baltimore, assessable upon the property benefitted
thereby and for the reimbursement of the city of Balti-
more in respect thereto out of the money derived from
said assessments. "

Endorsed: "Rules suspended, bill read the third time
and passed by yeas and nays. "

Also,

House bill entitled "An Act to appropriate a sum of
money to defray the expenses of a Joint Committee to
de fine and establish the boundary line between the State
of Maryland and the State of Virginia, along the Potomac
river. "

Endorsed: "Amended, read the third time and passed
by yeas and nays. "

AMENDMENT PROPOSED
By Finance Committee:

In line 6 of section 1, of original bill, strike out the
words "one thousand" and insert the words "seven hun-
dred and fifty dollars. "
