Mr. Sanford submitted the following message to the
Senate:

BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

April 2, 1900.
Gentlemen of the Senate:

The House of Delegates having refused to concur in
first, third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh amendments
proposed by the Senate to the House bill, (file No. 904, )
entitled "An Act to appropriate certain sums of money,
&c. We request your Honorable Body to recede from
said amendments and herewith return said bill.

Which was read, assented to and sent to the Senate.

The Secretary of the Senate appeared and delivered
the following message;

BY THE SENATE,

April 2nd, 1900.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:

We have received your message requesting the Senate
to recede from its amendments to House bill No. 904,
printed No. 497, entitled "An Act to appropriate certain
sums of money to the support of sundry schools and
charitable institutions in the State of Maryland. " We
