The Journal of the 30th inst was read and approved.

PETITIONS, MEMORIALS AND OTHER PAPERS.
Mr. Frenzel presented the petition of 225 miners and
mine laborers of Allegany county, petitioning the pas-
sage of the Mine Inspection law.

ORDERS.

On motion of Mr. Collins, it was

Ordered, That Mr. Willis be excused on account of
sickness from attendance at the sessions of this House
from the 1st day of March to the close of the session.

REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES.

Mr. Latrobe, from Committee on Claims, reported un-
favorably,

House bill entitled "An Act making an appropriation
for the purpose of paying the expenses of the dedication
of the Maryland soldiers' monument on the battlefield of
Antietam. "
