acted by the Act of 1898, chapter 50. "

Senate bill entitled "An Act to repeal section 21, of
chapter 323, of the Acts of the General Assembly of
Maryland, passed at its January session 1860, entitled
"An Act to incorporate a company to build a turnpike
road from the Georgetown Turnpike to the public road
leading from Adamstown to Granfield Mills, and to re-
enact said section with amendments so as to read as fol-
lows. "

Mr. Latrobe, from the Committee on Ways and Means,
reported unfavorably,

House bill entitled "An Act to dispose of the excess of
fees of compensation for official duties, payable to cer-
tain clerks of Courts, Sheriffs and Registers of Wills to
the Treasurers of the State. "

The question being upon the adoption of the unfavor-
able report,

Mr. Duncan called for a yea and nay vote, and the call
was sustained.

While said matter was pending,

Mr. Knott moved that the bill be substituted for the
unfavorable report, but the motion was rejected.

The question then recurring upon the adoption of the
unfavorable report.
