1528 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 28

House bill entitled "An Act to provide for the purchase
of an oil portrait picture of Henrietta Maria, after whom
the State was named, for the hall of the House of Dele-
gates, and to appropriate a sum of money therefor. "

Which was read a first time.

Also favorably,

Senate bill entitled "An Act to pay Harry T. Levely
for work done in the office of the Land Commissioner in
indexing the ancient records of Charles county, now in
the Laud Commissioner's office. "

Which was read a second time.

Also favorably, with request that same be sent to the
proper committee,

House bill entitled "An Act providing for the erection
and operation of a Rock Crushing Plant by and under
the supervision of the Board of Directors and the officers
of the Maryland House of Correction, and providing for
the sale of the crushed stone product to the counties and
other municipalities of the State.

Which was referred to the Committee on Judiciary.

Also, with the request that same be sent to the Judi-
ciary Committee,

Senate bill entitled "An Act giving the consent of the
State of Maryland, to the purchase and acquisition of
land by the Trustees of Union Theological Seminary in
Virginia. "

Which was read and referred to the Committee on
Judiciary.

REPORTS OF SELECT COMMITTEES.

Mr. Contee, from Select Committee, reported favor-
ably, with proposed amendments,

House bill entitled "An Act to authorize and direct the
County Commissioners of Prince George's county to con-
struct a public road upon and along the Washington
Turnpike Road between Laurel and line of District of
Columbia, to borrow money on the credit of said county
for the construction of said road and issue coupon bonds
therefor, and to levy and collect on and from the assess-
able property of said county an annual tax sufficient to
