mittee on Inspections.

Also,

Senate bill entitled "An Act to appropriate the sum of
$21, 440. 50 and to refund the same to the appropriation
for the contingent and necessary expenses of the Adju-
tant General's Office, and for the maintenance, equipment
and discipline of the land forces of the militia for the
fiscal year ending September 30th, 1900. "

Which was read a first time and referred to the Com-
mittee on Ways and Meant).

Also,

Senate bill No. 240, entitled "An Act to add au addi-
tional section to Article 23, of the Code of Public General
Laws, title 'Corporations, ' sub-title 'General Regulations, '
to follow immediately after section 85 L. and to be desig-
nated as 'Section 85 M. ' to permit life and accident in-
surance companies and safe deposit, trust, guaranty, loan
and fidelity companies, now or hereafter doing business
in this State, to deposit with the Treasurer of this State,
as the security required by law, first mortgage bonds of
electric railway companies operating within this State,
when said bonds have been respectively approved by the
Board of Public Works. "

Which was read a first time and referred to the Com-
mittee on Corporations.

Also,

Senate bill No. 164, entitled "An Act to regulate the
practice of medicine and surgery, to create State boards
of medical examiners, and to regulate the fees and emol-
uments thereof, to prevent the practice of medicine and
surgery by unauthorized persons, and to provide for the
trial and punishment of violators of the provisions of this
Act by a fine or imprisonment, or both, and to repeal and
re-enact with additions and amendments sections 39, 40,
41, 45, 49, 53, 56. 58 and 5P cf Article 43, of the Code of
Public General Laws, title 'Health, ' sub-title "Practition-
ers of Medicine, ' and to repeal all laws or parts of laws
in conflict or inconsistent with this Act, and to add addi-
tional sections thereto, to be designated as 'Sections 39,
40, 41, 45. 49, 53, 56, 58 And 59. ' "
