AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Amend by striking out all after section 1, and insert-
ing: as follows:

"Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the sum of eight thousand dollars be and the same
is hereby appropriated to be expended in making such
additional repairs and improvements at the House of Re-
formation for Colored Boys, at Cheltenham, as may be
necessary in the judgment of the Board of Managers of
said institution.

Sec. 2. Be it enacted, That the Treasurer, on the war-
rant of the Comptroller, be and he is hereby authorized
to pay to the board of managers of said institution the
said sum of eight thousand dollars upon the vouchers of
the treasurer of the institution approved by the president
of the board of managers. "

Mr. Lehmayer, from Judiciary Committee, reported
without recommendation,

House bill entitled "An Act to repeal section 30, of
Article 9. of the Code of Public General Laws, title 'At-
tachments, ' sub-title 'Attachments issued by Justices of
the Peace, " and to re-enact the same with amendments,
so as to authorize the attachment by way of execution of
one-half of the wages or time of laborers and employees. "

Which was read a first time.

Mr. King, from Committee on Elections, reported fav-
orably,

Senate bill entitled "An Act to amend Article 33, of
the Code of Public General Laws' title 'Elections, ' as re-
enacted by chapter 202, of the Acts of the General As-
sembly of Maryland, of 1896, by adding thereto 11 addi-
tional sections under the sub-title 'Corrupt Practices, " to
follow section 151, as now enacted. "

Which was read a second time.

Mr. Lehmayer, from Judiciary Committee, reported
favorably, with proposed amendments,

House bill entitled "An Act to regulate sales in bulk,
and for that purpose to add certain new sections to Art-
icle 27 of the Code of Public (General Laws of the State
of Maryland, title 'Crimes and Punishments, ' under the
