shall have no effect to confirm his title to the property above mentioned, nor shall he, or any person
claiming under him, derive any benefit under this act; but if the said Henry Casey shall die before
the time when, by the laws of the United States, he may become a citizen thereof, nothing in this
proviso contained shall prevent him from transmitting or transferring his said property by descent or
devise to any issue he may leave residing within the United States, who is hereby declared capable in
law to hold the same, or to any other person, being a citizen of the United States capable in law
to hold the same.

 LXIII.
CHAP. LXIV.
An ACT for the benefit of Michael Fenwick, of Saint-Mary's
                                        county.

WHEREAS it is represented to this general assembly, by the petition of Michael Fenwick, of
Saint-Mary's county, that a warehouse in the said county, known by the name of Cole's
Warehouse, was built on the land of the said Fenwick at the joint expence of himself and the county
aforesaid, for which he has received no compensation; therefore,

    II.  BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the levy court of Saint-Mary's
county be and they are hereby authorised and required to allow Michael Fenwick, of the county
aforesaid, out of the rents due upon tobacco received by the inspector of Cole's warehouse, such
annual compensation as they may think proper, (not exceeding fifty dollars per annum,) taking into
consideration the land on which the warehouse stands, the monies expended by him in building the
same, and the roads leading thereto.

CHAP. LXV.
An ACT for the relief of Hugh Ferguson, of Kent county.
WHEREAS Hugh Ferguson, of Kent county, emigrated to, and settled in, this state, and since
his emigration and settlement as aforesaid has acquired real property therein, and his title to
such property, from his not having become naturalized agreeably to the laws of the United States,
may be called in question, to his great detriment and injury; therefore,

    II.  BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the title to the real property, lawfully
and fairly acquired by the aforesaid Hugh Ferguson, whether such title be derived by gift, grant,
purchase or devise, be and the same is hereby as amply and as fully vested in the person aforesaid,
to all intents and purposes, as if he had been naturalized agreeably to said laws; provided always,
that nothing in this act contained shall in any manner defeat or affect any right, title or claim, to
the said property, or any part thereof, acquired or prosecuted by any person or persons whatever before
the passage of this act; and provided also, that unless the said Hugh Ferguson shall, on or before
the first day of June next, proceed according to law to make himself a citizen of the United States,
this act shall have no effect to confirm his title to the property above mentioned, nor shall he, or any
person claiming under him, derive any benefit under this act; but if the said Hugh Ferguson shall
die before the time when, by the laws of the United States, he may become a citizen thereof,
nothing in this proviso contained shall prevent him from transmitting or transferring his said property
by descent or devise to any issue he may leave residing within the United States, who is
hereby declared capable in law to hold the same, or to any other person, being a citizen of the United
States capable in law to hold the same.

CHAP. LXVI.
A Further Supplement to an act, entitled, An act to establish and
    regulate a market at Bridge-town, in Kent county, and for other
    purposes.

WHEREAS by the act, entitled, An act to establish and regulate a market at Bridge-town, in
Kent county, and for other purposes, passed at November session, seventeen hundred and
ninety-seven, the commissioners of said town are required annually, on the first Monday of March,
to call a meeting of the inhabitants of said town, by giving at least ten days notice, for the purpose
of choosing commissioners for the ensuing year:  And whereas commissioners were not elected agreeably
to law on the first Monday of March last; therefore,
