CHAP.
XXXIII.
Titles vested,
&c. |
Tree Valley, all lying and being in Frederick county aforesaid:
And whereas the said Thomas
Hunter acquired a title to the property aforesaid after his emigration
to, and settlement in, this
state, and before he became naturalized agreeably to law, whereby the titles
of the said Thomas
Hunter to the aforesaid lands, at the time of the conveyances aforesaid,
have become doubtful;
therefore,
II. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the titles to the aforesaid lands be
and the same are hereby as amply and as fully vested in the aforesaid William
Ballenger, Anthony
Poultney and Basil Dorsey, agreeably to the aforesaid conveyances from
the said Thomas Hunter to
them respectively, as if the said Thomas Hunter had been naturalized
before his tittles to the property
aforesaid had been acquired; provided always, that nothing in this
act contained shall be construed
in any manner to affect any right, title or claim, to the aforesaid land,
or any part thereof,
acquired or prosecuted by any person or persons before the passage of this
act. |

Preamble.

An ACT for the relief of John Sites, of Washington
county.
WHEREAS John Sites, of Washington county, has emigrated to, and settled
in, this state,
and since his emigration and settlement in this state has acquired
real property therein: And
whereas his title to such property, from his not having been naturalized
before such property was
acquired by him, may be called in question, to his great injury and
detriment; therefore,
II. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the title to all real property,
lawfully and fairly acquired by the aforesaid John Sites, whether such
title be derived by grant, gift,
purchase or devise, be and the same is hereby as amply and as fully vested
in the said John Sites, to
all intents and purposes, as if he had been naturalized before his title
to such real property had been
acquired; provided always, that nothing in this act contained shall in
any manner defeat or affect
any right, title or claim, to the said property, or any part thereof,
acquired or prosecuted by any
person or persons whatever before the passage of this act; and provided
also, that unless the said
John Sites shall proceed according to law to make himself a citizen of
the United States, this act
shall have no effect to confirm his title to the property above mentioned,
nor shall he, nor any person
claiming under him, derive any benefit under this act; but if the said
John Sites shall die before the
time when, by the laws of the United States, he may become a citizen thereof,
nothing in this proviso
contained shall prevent him from transmitting or transferring his said
property by descent or devise
to any issue he may leave residing within the United States, who is hereby
declared capable in
law to hold the same, or to any other person, being a citizen of the United
States, and capable in
law to hold the same. |

An ACT for the relief of Devalt Glockner, of
Washington county.
WHEREAS Devalt Glockner, of Washington county, did, in the year seventeen
hundred and
eighty-five, emigrate to, and settle in, this state, and since his emigration
and settlement in
this state has acquired real property therein: And whereas his title
to said property, from his not
having been naturalized before such property was acquired by him, may be
called in question, to his
great injury and detriment; therefore,
II. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the title to all the real property,?
lawfully and fairly acquired by the aforesaid Devalt Glockner, whether
such title be derived by
grant, gift, purchase or devise, be and the same is hereby as amply and
as fully vested in the said
Devalt Glockner, to all intents and purposes, as if he had been naturalized
before his title to such
real property had been acquired; provided always, that nothing in this
act contained shall in any

or any part thereof, acquired
or prosecuted by any person or persons whatever before the passage of this
act; and provided also,
that unless the said Devalt Glockner shall, on or before the first day
of June next, proceed according
to law to make himself a citizen of the United States, this act shall have

title to the property above mentioned, nor shall he, or any person claiming
under him, derive any
benefit under this act; but of the said Devalt Glockner shall die before
the time when, by the laws
of the United States, he may become a citizen thereof, nothing in this
