that as the plan proposed by the bill is thus strongly recommended, that the opinion of those who represent Baltimore
and Harford counties, which are mentioned in the bill, will have its due weight with the senate, and
upon reconsideration of the subject the bill may pass.

        GENTLEMEN OF THE SENATE,
    WE have dissented from the amendments proposed by you to the bill, entitled, An act to assess and levy on
the assessable property of Anne-Arundel county a sum of money for the purpose herein after mentioned, and send
the same back, together with the amendments, for your reconsideration.

    Which were read.
And returns the bill concerning the real estate of Elizabeth Watts, late of Saint-Mary's county, endorsed;
" By the house of delegates, December 13, 1800:  Read the first time and ordered to lie on the table.

" By the house of delegates, December 15, 1800:  Read the second time and will pass.

    The bill to appoint an agent for the year one thousand eight hundred and one, was read the second time and
will pass.
    The resolution in favour of the trustee, was read the second time by especial order and assented to.
    The clerk of the house of delegates delivers a bill, entitled, A further supplement to the act, entitled, An
act for the relief of sundry insolvent debtors, endorsed; " By the house of delegates, December 15, 1800:
" Read the first time and ordered to lie on the table.
                                                            " By order,                                                    W.  HARWOOD, clk.
" By the house of delegates, December 15, 1800:  read the second time by especial order and will pass.
                                                            " By order,                                                    W.  HARWOOD, clk."
Which was read the first time and ordered to lie on the table.
    The resolution in favour of the mayor and city council of Baltimore, was read the second time by
especial order and assented to.
The senate adjourns till to-morrow morning 10 o'clock.

T    U    E    S    D    A    Y,    December 16, 1800.

    THE senate met.  Present the same members as on yesterday.  The proceedings of yesterday were read.
    The supplement to an act, entitled, An act to regulate elections, the amendments thereto, the bill for 
opening a road leading from the town of Bladensburgh, in Prince-George's county, to the city of Washington,
until it intersects the present road at or near the district line of Columbia, the amendment thereto, the bill for
the relief of Henry Casey, of the city of Baltimore, the bill for the relief of Hugh Ferguson, of Kent county,
the further supplement to an act, entitled, An act to establish and regulate a market at Bridge-town, in Kent
county, and for other purposes, the bill for the relief of Michael Fenwick, of Saint-Mary's county, the bill to
authorise the laying out a public road from the ford on the Little Falls of Gunpowder, near a mill known by the
name of The Dutch Mill, to intersect the York road near Josiah Hitchcock's old blacksmith's shop, in Harford
county, the bill to appoint an agent for the year one thousand eight hundred and one, the resolution in favour of
the trustee, and the resolution in favour of the mayor and city council of the city of Baltimore, were sent to the
house of delegates by the clerk.
    The bill for the relief of John Jarvis, was read the second time and will pass.
    The bill to enable the mayor and city council of Baltimore to introduce water into the said city, was read the
second time, agreeably to the order of the day, and, on motion, ORDERED, That the said bill be committed to
William Hammond Dorsey, David McMechen and Charles Goldsborough, junior, Esquires, to consider and report
thereon.
    The bill relative to the jurisdiction of the court of appeals was read the second time and will pass.
    The bill to incorporate the trustees of the Baltimore and Harford Academies, was read the second time by
especial order, and the question was put, That the said bill do pass?  The yeas and nays being required, appeared
as follow:

John Thomas, Esquire, president, Charles Ridgely, of Hampton, David McMechen, Charles Goldsborough,
