At A County Cort helld the 13th day of november in the eight year of the Dominion of the Rt honr:ble Charles
over Maryland Annoq Dom 1683 before his Lopps Justices there unto assigned and authorised

present Capta Henry Smith : mr Thomas Newbold Commrs:
mr William Brereton : major Ambrose London
Whereas in September last past at or: County Cort: then held in a presumptious nature Wm: Innes Senr
Thomas Pointer: John Smock: Robert Cade: James Round John Emmett Thomas Selbe Roger Patrike
Henry Bishop Junr: & Nathaniell Innis Did Cause a Certaine writing in forme of A peticon to be
presented to the Court in behalfe of Rodiah ffossett of this County to the wch: the said persons
named had sett to theire hands & markes: The Court then finding the Said writing to be done
& Subscribed in manner of A Contempt Did then order the persons before named to be Summoned
to make out the Charge therein Contained: In obedience to the order the parties were Sumoned
& this day to witt y 13th: day of november Ao::Do: 1683 The major part of the Subscribers
appeared And humbly desired y favour of this Cort: for themselves & others absent to
be favourable not presuming that they did in any wise doe the Same in Contempt but foolishly
& Simply through ignorance This Cort: Considering the premisses doe order that the Said Wm: Innis Senr:
Thomas Pointer: John Smock, Robert Cade: James Round; John Emmett; Thomas Selbe Roger Patrike
Henry Bishop Junr: & Nathaniell Innes Doe pay unto the Sherife this present year each person
fifty pounds of tobacco for the use of the Poore of this County & Cost:/ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

The Same Day being the 13th: november 1683

Whereas by ordr: of Cort: attachmt: issued against the goods Chattles & debts of mr: Wm: Darvile
for four Thousand four hundred pounds of Tobacco to answr: unto John Winder in an accon
of Accompt which writt of attachment was returned by the Sherife the 14th day of Augst
Last past & was attached on the 15th: day of June last past Two Ships Anchors on y plantacon
of Capta: John Winder belonging to the Said William Darvile And this day to witt y
13th day of November Annoq Dom 1683 At the request of y plte This Cort ordrs: that
William Elgate Senr: and Daniell Hast is appointed appraysers to apprayse the said
Anchors they being first Sworne before Some one Magistrate of this County then
Weigh them and make true appraysemt: to the best of theire Skill & knowledge And
give report thereof To the next County Cort: To be holden Second Tuesday In

The Informacon of James Knowles Concerning John White & Miles Williams
is That he saw and read John Whites Indentures which was according as the
rest of the passengers in that Shipp which was for four years and he the
Said James Likewise Saw the said John White deliver his Said Indenture into
Richard Pearsons Custody who was the Master of the Said Shipp to Secure them
untill the time he arived within the Capes of Virginia and then he the
Said John to have the bennefitt of them and further Saith not
James Knowles Peter Carnell Saw the Same Indentures delivered unto Richard
Pearsons in manner aforesaid
The Said James Knowles
made oath in open Cort: the 13th day of November Annoq Do: 1683) on the holy
Evangelist that the abovesaid writing is true this donne in presence
of the honrble Collo Stevens President: Collo: Wm Colebourne Capta Henry
Smith Capta David Browne Capta: John Winder & Major Ambrose
